MarketMommies is a business directory for small Mom Owned Businesses. Currently, the site contains over 1,700 Mom Owned Businesses listed with 140 of those being from Central Ohio. It is the perfect one-stop site for local gift ideas, product reviews, interesting blogs, and supports small businesses. You can find photographers to get that magical holiday family photo, unique childrens’ clothing and accessories, handmade toys, bags and wallets, and much more. Click the “Shop!” tab and enter your zip code to find local artist/crafter moms in your area. You don’t even have to get out of your jammies – merely type a few letters and click your mouse. Voila! Shopping = done.
After perusing MarketMommies, a few things made my favorite list. Take a look:
I found a great little gift for a mommy in your life (or yourself!). It is a little tray you can clip onto your grocery cart to hold your coupons or put snacks in for your children called OnTray. Seriously, how cool AND invented by an Ohio Mom! It was one of MarketMommies‘s favorite things in May, check it out: MarketMommies Reviews.
Seamstress in your life or wanting to learn to sew? Sew to Speak has interesting sewing patterns, sewing accessories, or gift cards you can order online. Their brick and mortar shop (located just south of Henderson Road) offers classes for novice to advanced sewers and a large array of unique fabrics.
Give the gift of tea party! This is so sweet I can’t even stand it, hence the name: Sweet Tea Parties. Plan to throw a tea party during the cold months of January or February to warm up your little one and her friends, or a gift certificate to a loved one so they can plan a party themselves. Tea party planners come to your house and set up (with tables, chairs, plates, napkins – everything needed, they bring!) and then host a tea party for a party of 8, including tea, games, and a little lesson in etiquette.
Functional and fun – Elisalou Designs. Wristlets, dog collars, and bags that are handmade with bright fabric patterns that suit each person or dog’s unique personality.
