Thanks to all of you who tuned into my appearance on Fox 28’s Good Day Columbus! Here are the activities I talked about coming up in June:
Home Depot Kids Workshops – FREE!
9 am – 12pm the first Saturdays of the month
June: an organizer, which would be a great Dad’s day gift. Read about our experience here: Kids Workshops at Home Depot
On Father’s Day, take dad out to eat and he’ll receive a free bottle of maple syrup. First Watch is very kid-friendly. Breakfast and lunch will be busy that day, so plan to wait (bring stuff for the kiddies to do).
Ohio Historical Society is kicking off their grand RE-opening the first weekend in June. Take the kids back in time to a town reminiscent of 1800’s Ohio. People are in costume, the buildings are open to tour, the Muffins (old-timey baseball team) play, etc. Plan a day this summer to go! Admission to the museum gets you into Ohio Village. $10/adult, $5/child 6 – 12, FREE 5 and under. Check their site for times.
PBJ & Jazz summer series at Topiary Park
June 9 (click on link above for other concert dates)
11 am – 11:30am Columbus Metropolitan Library’s family storytime, 12 pm – 1pm FREE jazz concert in the park, 1 pm – 2pm hands-on art project with Columbus Museum of Art. Bring a blanket and a picnic lunch! *You don’t have to do all three – last year we just went to the concert, fyi.*
Capa Summer Movie Series Presents Cartoon Capers at the Ohio Theater
June 23, 10 am
Take your kids to the historic Ohio Theater to watch classic cartoons. $4/person, and let your kids experience watching cartoons on the big screen like they did in the old days. They may even have a live organ player! Think Bugs, Daffy, Pepe Le Pew, Porky Pig – I can’t stand it!
