Columbus, OH – Ringling Bros. and Healthy Worthington Resource & Food Pantry are hoping to fill the pantry shelves with non-perishable food items for local people in need by hosting the DRAGONS Drive for Hunger on Saturday, April 27th from 10 a.m. – Noon in conjunction with the Worthington Farmers Market, located in the Shops at Worthington Place, 7227 North High Street in Worthington.
The first 300 individuals who bring 10 cans of food will receive a free ticket voucher to the Wednesday, May 8 or Thursday, May 9 performance of Ringling Brothers and Barnum & BaileyÒ presents DRAGONS at the Schottenstein Center. There will be a limit of four ticket vouchers per family; a limit of 300 vouchers will be given.
Items accepted at the food drive include: canned fruits and vegetables; pasta, rice and grains; cereal and oatmeal; soups and sauces; peanut butter, jam and jelly; coffee and tea; beans, tuna and other canned proteins; and pantry staples such as cooking oil, sugar and baking flour.
“We serve close to 300 families a month at the Healthy Worthington Resource and Food Pantry,” said spokesperson Barry Bennett,. “The need is increasing with more families seeking food and services.”
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® presents DRAGONS is produced by Feld Entertainment, is performing eight shows at the Schottenstein Center from May 8-12, 2013. Show times are: Wednesday, May 8, 7 p.m.; Thursday, May 9, 7 p.m.; Friday, May 10, 7 p.m.; Saturday, May 11 at 11 a.m. 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, May 12 at 1 and 5 p.m. The ticket vouchers issued at the DRAGONS Drive for Hunger will be for Wednesday and Thursday’s shows.
Ringling Bros. Presents DRAGONS opens an hour before with the All Access Pre-show available and FREE to all ticket holders. Families can join Pre-show Host Andre McClain and participate in interactive experiences such as learning juggling and balancing skills, get performer autographs, see one of Ringling Bros. majestic Asian elephant’s paint a one-of-a-kind masterpiece and meet the Ringling Bros. Clowns, whose side-splitting spoofs, absurd antics and comical parody are guaranteed to keep audiences roaring with laughter.
