Looking for a place to take your child for swimming lessons or some indoor family fun swimming?
Goldfish Swim School opens March 1, 2014! Goldifsh Swim School is a “kiddie” natatorium located at 6175 Shamrock Ct. in Dublin. The new facility caters to families and little swimmers offering experienced swim instructors, a fun atmosphere, and plenty of other options such as birthday party packages and parents’ night out!
I’ve been chatting with Goldfish Swim School owner Lisa Armitage and here’s some stuff I learned that you might find helpful…
Tell me about your lessons and the pool:
The entire pool is 4 feet deep. We have built in benches along each length of the pool. We have a portable baby slide that we use for baby classes, but we do not keep it out for family swim.
We offer lessons for children 4 months – 12 years old. There is no exact cut off date. We will take 13 year olds, etc.
We find most often that the older children 12+ don’t always want to be in lessons with 5 year olds, so some of the older kids opt for private or semi-private lessons.
For lessons – we have students enrolled that are 4 months all of the way to 13 right now. We want to teach children of all ages to swim and be safe in the water. We offer baby classes all of the way up to a non-competitive recreational swim team.
What are your changing facilites like – are there plenty for cold littles to get changed right away?
We have 11 family changing rooms, several are handicap accessible (amazing for those with disabilities, but also for those with many children- you can fit everyone in there)! We have hooks and cubbies all over the facility for clothes/bags/etc.
What about family swim times?
Family swim is $5 a person or MAX $15 for an entire family. You can attend family swim without having your children enrolled for lessons. For those that are enrolled- family swim M-Th from 12-1pm is FREE. Everyone pays (enrolled and non-enrolled families) on Friday and Sunday evenings. Those swims get pretty busy, so we bring in extra lifeguards to keep everyone safe.
For open swim- EVERYONE should come. Moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas, children of all ages. We bring out our pool toys, giant canoe, giant floating airplane, etc. Open swim is a blast- especially in that 90 degree water!
