Who: Columbus’ water safety expert Lisa Armitage, Goldfish Swim School’s lifeguard-certified instructors, area children and families, and local rescue personnel
What: In conjunction with National Water Safety Month, Goldfish Swim School in Dublin is holding its first annual Water Safety Awareness Day. At the free event, children and families will receive information and tips on staying safe in and around the water this summer and will learn the steps to take in an emergency. The ultimate goal is to address statistics that show drowning is the leading cause of accidental-injury death among children ages 1 to 4. These serious messages will be delivered in a fun and relaxing environment that will offer several visual and interview opportunities for the media:
· Police department, fire trucks and rescue personnel
· Face painting
· Balloon twisting
· Kona ice and prizes
