Mini golf made it on our summer bucket list for this year. We had never been to the course in Westerville off of Schrock Road and decided to check it out for Father’s Day. Mini golf is fun and easy for all levels of putt-putters. Westerville Mini Golf has two 18-hole courses complete with a windmill, which in my opinion should be on every mini golf course.
First, the kids picked out their golf clubs (please remind them it is not a baseball bat…at least that came up in conversation for us). Next up is a ball in your color of choice, a small pencil, and a scorecard. I don’t know about you, but I have always cheated on the score card. Always. So, if my brother ever reads this I have to take back all of those comments of: “in your face,” “look at me – this is what a winner looks like,” and “maybe you just need to try harder next time.” I used to be a real treat…who am I kidding?! I said this to my kids the other day! (hee hee)
Anyhoo, there are coupons in the Entertainment Book which saved us some cash. The kids played both courses and had a blast. I would say if you don’t get flustered easily, anywhere from age 3 and up could mini-golf. Of course, the younger they are the more chances of you just picking them up and moving onto the next hole. We are always respectful of the people playing behind us.
Remind children not to hit the ball:
- out of the park
- at another person
- into the water (accidents do happen)
- or throw the ball at a sibling
