COLUMBUS, Ohio – An annual holiday classic is celebrating its 20th Anniversary as Columbus Youth Ballet Project presents “The Nutcracker.” Performances are December 19 at 7:00 pm and December 20 at 4:00 pm at the historic Lincoln Theatre, located at 769 East Long Street, Columbus, OH 43203.
The production is restaged and directed by Lee Edwards, the new owner and artistic director of Columbus Youth Ballet Academy, 5076 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43214.
“We at Columbus Youth Ballet Academy are extremely proud to be able to bring this timeless holiday classic to the stage,” said Edwards. “Our dancers have been working hard and are very excited to present this production to the community.”
The production features a cast of all local student dancers ages 6-17 including Grace Ortega, of Clintonville, in the lead role of Marie (Clara), Elizabeth Douglass, of Clintonville, as the Nutcracker, Allison Huckins, of Worthington, as the Mouse King, and Savanna Norder, of Dublin, as the Sugar Plum Fairy.
